The breakfast club An inner journey is a journey that someone goes through when they make a realisation and make growth in themselves as an individual. Inner journeys are used a lot in the breakfast club. The Breakfast Club is a classic teenage movie that explores the struggles of adolescents and the stereotypes in high school life. Five socially opposite teenagers, Allison, Andrew, Bender, Brian and Claire are in a Saturday detention. In my personal opinion Allison is one of the most memorable characters, Ally Sheedy plays Allison. When she does get noticed, it’s because she’s being judged for being different from others. People are shown not to bother to acknowledge her. In the opening scene, Allison walks in with her head down, she walks the long way around to the back to avoid the others. It is illustrated that the other characters stare at her and chuckle because they think she is weird. However they don’t bother to actually say anything to her. She takes a seat facing the opposite way than the other characters, this is to tell the audience that Allison is not comfortable around these people. If we go back to when she was talking about vodka, it is revealed that this was not true, she wanted to impress Andrew and make him interested in what she had to say. Towards the end of this movie she starts talking about having an affair with a married man. Everyone believes her, though this is also not true and I think she said this for attention, she reveals to the group that she is a compulsive liar. When all the characters are smoking, Allison approaches them and asks if they want to see what is in her bag, Brian and Andrew say no, Allison’s facial expressions show us that she doesn't like being dismissed so she shows them anyways she gets pretty annoyed with them which leads us she doesn’t want to be ignored by the people she is finally feeling safe
