In the “Mis-Education of the Negro” (Woodson, C.G., 1933), Carter G. Woodson, the founder of the black history movement, argues that many of the black spiritual leaders of the church have led the people astray. He suggests that far too many pastors of institution of spiritual uplift are manipulating the people for their own self-centered gains. Moreover, that their interest is only to benefit themselves.
Entrepreneurs controlled the Gilded Age creating a growing economy with booming businesses and yet this has not changed over the years. John Rockefeller and Andrew Carnegie can be compared to those with the names Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. Multibillionaires, who know what the consumers desire, is what these men are best at. They knew and now know business well enough to be able to control our country’s’ economy. However, these successful business men do not do it together.
The way he created Black History Month was by making a special program for many people to join. At first it was only a week, now it is a month and it is known by the entire nation. In 1916 in published the “Journal of Negro History” which was a very well-written and popular journal. He was a frontiersman in writing and publishing books/journals.

Her business quickly expanded around many areas. “When Walker transferred her business operations to Indianapolis, the Madame C.J. Walker Manufacturing Company had become wildly successful, with profits that were the modern-day equivalent of several million dollars.” Madame C.J Walker was clearly an empowering woman. “Walker was as generous as she was successful, establishing a network of clubs for her employees and offering bonuses and prizes to those who contributed to their communities through charitable works. She promoted female talent” Madame Walker was setting a great example to the woman and to African Americans.
Carnegie's business solidified the opposition however in spite of this, he trusted individuals ought to know the amount they are genuinely winning (Document 3). Carnegie realized that on the off chance that somebody didn't buckle down, they would not make the cut and get to be distinctly fruitful. Not exclusively was society enhanced by commitment to a business, however it could be enhanced by philanthropy
In the 1940s, about 10 years prior to Woodson’s death, the state of West Virginia began celebrating Negro History Month. Nearly 20 years later, Midwestern cities would follow suit with creating opportunities to expand the celebration for the entire month of February. Chicago, Illinois cultural activist Frederic H. Hammurabi helped to organize the Negro History Month and began incorporating themes from African history in the celebration. The Black United Students at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio organized one of the first Black History Month celebrations on a college campus in February 1969. Seven years later, 1976, in celebration of the United States Bicentennial President Gerald Ford recognized the need to honor the accomplishments of African Americans.
The Famous Black History Person that I had chosen was Frederick Douglass he has two autobiography about his traditions and how a slave can feel. Frederick Douglass had been a slave and had escaped from his White master and had been on a tour to somewhere else to get as far away from his owner that would probably recapture him. Frederick Douglass is American hero in Black History month. Frederick Douglass was a slave which his whole family was slaves too such as his mother. Famous Frederick Douglass had been a slave since his mom was a slave too and Frederick Augustus Douglass is an American leader of nineteenth century.
Black history month is a yearly commemoration dedicated to the accomplishments made by African Americans. As an African American female, I am persistently faced with discrimination, stereotyping and sexism. I am aware that the racism and discrimination we face today is not nearly as atrocious as what my ancestors experienced, but it is still exceedingly difficult being black in America. I give thanks to the great deal of African Americans before my time who fought for our freedom. There are countless blacks who inspire and motivate me everyday.
Black History Month is a yearly celebration of achievements by African-Americans .Today's society shouldn't only celebrate the African-American heroes in the month of February , but should also be year round. The month of February gives people the chance to show black athletes as well as leaders. Martin Luther King Jr. is one of the most recognized African-American Leaders , his inspiring message can’t be forgotten about even his motivational speech lives on. With the strong heart and mind as well as pluck in African-Americans substructure of slavery, fighting for civil rights, the right to vote. This has created a solid foundation to build ongoing legacy in the future.
Pick up a history book, flip through its pages, and find a section(s) dedicated to African Americans. There will be a supercut of slavery and a few inventors, enough to count on one’s hand. Ultimately, only the historical characters that are considered salient are provided, which are white educators, Presidents, legislators, advocates, inventors, etc. This issue engenders the remaining reason to advocate Black History Month. “Carter G. Woodson was the sole individual responsible for creating Negro History Week in Washington, D.C., in February 1926” (Edmondson).
In an interview with Mike Wallace, Morgan Freeman says that he doesn’t like Black History Month. He says that he thinks having a month for black history isn’t going to end racism and that the one way to is to stop talking about it. Morgan Freeman is wrong to say so. If we want to get rid of racism, we need to demote it until it goes away. Otherwise people won’t see that the way they treat other races is wrong.
The people from Africa were generally part of early American history; however, Africans had experience slavery under better conditions compared to the conditions imposed by other civilized society. From the Egyptian Empire to the Empire of Songhai, slavery was practice for the betterment of their society, however, foreigners invaded these regions and took their slave, their ports and impose these people to a life of servitude in the Caribbean islands and in the English’s colonies. Furthermore, the African American slaves were an active agent of society in the earliest period of American history; they have brought new religious practices to their community; for instance, they constructed networks of communities; they had fought in war alongside
It was a result of the free enterprise system that Henry Ford was able to establish his business and develop it into a successful enterprise. His success as an entrepreneur not only benefited him, but it also benefited other entrepreneurs. His leadership in this field led to the development of new concepts and ideas which were beneficial to future entrepreneurs and helped them to develop their own business ideas in order to become successful as well. Therefore, it is through the success of one entrepreneur that many others were also able to
