Describe your client and what you believe are their current presenting issues. The client is s a nine year old male in the third grade. He lived with his mother Carol and stepfather for a period of time. He currently is living in a foster home as result of his emotionally disturbed behavior. Jason presenting problem is whether he should stay in his current placement, move to an alternative setting, or return home.
Client Information John, a fifty one year old veteran, has recently sought out career counseling. His goal is to find an occupation outside of the army. John wants to find a job that fits his personality and he will enjoy. John does not want to retire just yet, and wants to be able to provide for his family as long as he is able to. John’s resources are limited.
This is when I felt the urge in going back to college and get to a career that matches my interests as well as my skills. On my journey to discover my dream career, I met with the career adviser a few times. Afterwards, I did some career research and gained some work experience as a Healthcare Assistant and as a Dental Nurse. Topic: Why Career and Technical Education courses should be mandatory in high school General Purpose: To persuade Specific Purpose Statement: To persuade my audience that by taking Career and Technical Education courses during high school, they will better prepared for college and adulthood. Thesis Statement: By requiring high school students to take CTE courses in addition to their regular academic curriculum, they will understand the purpose and benefits of those courses and be better equipped to handle college and adulthood. Additionally, as a counselor, it is important to be genuine with whatever feedbacks one presents to the patient and what one believes regarding the situation of the client. Mrs. Perez believes the more authentic and genuine he is with her patients, the more help he will be able to offer the clients. As a counselor, it is important to have a fine and professional interaction with one 's client but boundaries must be maintained. Through this, a counselor is able to demonstrate their focus on helping the patients by showing the client that they understand their problems.
