“The 1970 OCR memorandum and the Lau V. Nichols Supreme Court decision led to expansion of Title VI enforcement under the Ford and Carter administrations” (Ovando 79). The Lau Remedies created a background to develop and implement bilingual language wherever it is possible.
Byrne relies on Scott v. Watson, 278 Md. 160 (1976), for the proposition that “a breach of a duty by a defendant will result in his liability in the third party criminal activity context when the breach enhances the likelihood of the particular criminal activity.” (Opposition at p. 9). First, Scott did not even hold that the landlord owed the plaintiff a duty—as that case was a certified question from the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. Id. at 161-62. Second, Scott applied exclusively to the duties a landlord owes to its tenants.
It It f It frustrates me what Dr. Anna Pou had to go through with the lawsuits of the Memorial Medical Center incident. As Healthcare professionals, being sued for making the rightful decision for the patient and the hospital is unjust. Healthcare professionals like Dr. Pou, have taken the Hippocratic oath, and one of the promises made within that oath is “first, do no harm”. Hospital’s should not be so quick to make such an important decision of pressing charges to their faculty; more trust should be placed in them. In addition, she made it clear her intentions were just to ‘‘help’’ patients ‘‘through their pain,’’ on national television.

A medical biller and coder needs to understand medical terminology when coding for many reasons. ICD-10 codes (both CM and PCS) are really specific, so a coder will need an in depth knowledge not only of medical terminology, but anatomy and physiology as well. To be proficient, a coder should know the organ systems as wells as their parts. A coder and biller should also know where to look for codes related to a certain part of the body. So knowledge of medical terminology is a must.
The actions of others can and will affect the lives of the people around them whether it is in the community or a specific family. There are many examples of this in the book The Crucible by Arthur Miller that will affect others. As I was reading this the events that showed up most was witchcraft and lying which caused a vast majority of the problems throughout the play. Many characters demonstrated different things that impacted others’ lives, such as Abagail lying in court, John Proctor committing adultery, and lastly the girls dancing in the woods.
Destruction The Crucible by Arthur Miller takes place in the 16 century during the period of the Salem witch trails. It was base roughly off of people that lived during that time, and the events that took place. The play is about a group of girls who are led by Abigail Williams who accuse the majority of women in the town of witchcraft. Arthur miller used this story to show people that jealousy lead to destruction. Love, hatred, and jealousy are frequently shown between John Proctor, Abigail Williams and Elizabeth Proctor.
