Having to move on from something can be very challenging. It could be from a relationship, a career, or the past. Many people are scared of moving on because they are not sure what they are going to do afterward. This is the main topic that Andrew Brininstool talks about in his short story, “Portrait of a Backup.” However, the main question he wants the reader to reflect upon is if a person should be scared of moving on with their life.
Behavior Progress: During this review period, Tyler has continued to participate in all aspects of the program with some difficulty. Early in the review period, Tyler presented some struggle with interacting appropriately with his peers and staff. For example, on 5/24/17, Tyler received 8 hour of room restriction and a MRT set back to step 3 for arguing with staff and disrespectful display. On 5/26/17, Tyler received 13 hours of room restriction for engaging in a verbal altercation during class. During this incident, Tyler and his peer were both overheard by staff making inciting and challenging comments towards each other.

He is almost always the one who starts the fights (Criterion 2). He likes to pick on little kids and is happy when they cry. Teachers at school stated that he picks on one of the handicapped kid, who is in a wheelchair. He has taken some of her things away from her (Criterion 6) and tried to tip over her wheelchair (Criterion A1 and 4). Damien has been skipping school since the age of 9 (Criterion A15) and he is failing (Criterion B).
Carla is a 7-year-old second grader who displays major tantrums and destructive behavior in the home and school setting. Her parents were recently separated and Carla’s behavior has gotten out of control. Carla’s teacher has verbally expressed concern for her at a recent meeting.

The primary issues are the quality of instruction received by all students and Principal Miller’s lack of knowledge regarding the political, social, economic, and cultural context of the community. To gain a better understanding of the issues, Mr. Miller will need to collect and review data.
My Reflection of Real Talk for Real Teachers Real Talk for Real Teachers written by Rafe Esquith has been thought provoking as well as entertaining to read. I have learned a great deal from reading this book and I hope to implement a few of his ways in my future classroom. I can relate too many of the stories that have been told in this book because this is real life in a school environment. I would like to break my summary down chapter by chapter.
