The Lindow Man was exposed to an extensive series of forensic and scientific examinations which were carried out by Dr. West, who successfully painted an image of the man’s death:
Two fractures on the base and crown of the skull were discovered by an x-ray. This injury would have proven to be minor, only causing unconsciousness.
A blocked windpipe and two broken neck bones were caused by a sinew rope which was bound around his neck. This displays signs of strangulation, which is believed to be the cause of death.
Several post-mortem injuries include:
A gash on the right of his throat, cutting through the jugular. While some scientists speculate that his throat was slit in order to drain his blood, others believe that the injury was a post-death
