Children who dreamed of excessive amounts of houses and cars with an abundance of money; however, Wu-Tang Clan grew up without the funds to be materialistic. In society, people born into higher financial status live a comfortable life compared to their peers, such as the privileges of a nanny, social life, and higher education. In America, society has a narrative that prosperous people are independent, and as a result, people who need assistance are because of “their environmental failure” (Coontz 150).
