Introduction The Cattaraugus County Rehabilitation Center is a not-for-profit organization that was established in 1958. The Cattaraugus County Rehabilitation Center was created by parents of children with disabilities. Since the center’s opening, the Cattaraugus County Rehabilitation Center has serviced hundreds of individuals with disabilities in over thirty-five sites. (Martello, Watson, & Fischer, 2008) In this assignment I will be discussing my opinion on if Cattaraugus County Rehabilitation Center did an effective job of implementing a balanced scorecard approach in a fashion that reflects their organizational mission and vision. The Cattaraugus County Rehabilitation Center mission statement is centered on the consumer and vision statement is centered around servicing people with a disability. (Martello, Watson, & Fischer, 2008) When observing the strategy map of the Cattaraugus County Rehabilitation Center, one will see that the center places importance on both the customer and the financial perspective. The customer is the sole purpose of the Cattaraugus County Rehabilitation Center and since the center is a non-profit organization the center must constantly be aware of the fun. The four perspectives that makes up the balanced score card for the Cattaraugus County Rehabilitation Center are consumer, financial, operational, and learning. The consumer perspective of the Cattaraugus County Rehabilitation Center balanced scorecard is focused on closing the gap of unmet services and improving the access to services for consumers. The financial perspective of the Cattaraugus County Rehabilitation Center is focused on gaining funding for the center. Since the Cattaraugus County Rehabilitation Center is non-profit, the center relies heavily on outside funding to help keep the center open. The Cattaraugus County Rehabilitation Center relies on the center’s operational objectives to support the consumer and financial objectives.
