World War II: Causal Analysis There are many different history documents about what led to the beginning of World War II, however there are many theories that have been developed over time that people believe may have contributed to the beginning of one of the largest wars in the history of mankind. One of the theories that I have is that the war started because of different countries having many different opinions of races, and because of the countries disagreeing on views of different races. The Treaty of Versailles was what initially caused Hitler's rise in Germany, due to him promising to bring Germany back to where they were before the treaty of Versailles was affected. He promised to bring the land back that was lost during the treaty, and that economically Germany would be powerful once again. This led to millions of people following him and because of this, led to him being elected the Chancellor of Germany. Hitler then began to make claims at the formerly owned German soil, that was lost after World War I. Many of them had ethnic German populations as well. Hitler began attempting to seize land around Czechoslovakia and around the reign lands. The international community initially condemned him, but they later gave him the land of Czechoslovakia in an effort to get him to appease his claims under the condition to stop him from making claims to other foreign lands and invading them. Hitler began to view the other nations as weak and powerless, and set his eyes on Poland. He eventually invaded Poland in 1939 with the Soviet Union. The casualties dealt to the American people were in the thousands. Over 2000 Americans were killed, and another 1000 were wounded by the attacks. On the contrary, only 64 Japanese airmen were killed in the Pearl Harbor attacks. This attack brought the United States to the war against Japan. On December 11th, Hitler declared war on the United States which later brought the US into the European theatre. The United States decided to fight the war on two fronts, sending aircraft carriers to fight in the Pacific Ocean, while also sending troops to assist the European soldiers.(History.com Staff) This entire conflict between the Japanese and the Americans were stemmed from Japan's despise towards other Asian countries, and the desire to conquer and rule over them.
