Our beautiful 31st state, California, is in a major drought. What is causing the valley to sink more than it ever has in recent years? “Sipping California Dry” authored by Matt Richtel, goes beyond the issues at hand by interviewing the farmers themselves, detailing exactly what is happening in the golden state with pictures that show just how bad it is in California. This drought is a real issue, and the author works very hard to bring to light certain aspects of it that we may not know about in a detailed, informative way.
In the article of the week The Wrong Way to “Think about California Water” by Michael Hiltzik, Hiltzik explains why we are thinking about California's water the wrong way. He gives several reasons why we are thinking about California's drought the wrong way that seem to significant , but my family can cut back on water usage using these same principles. First, even when he said that water bottles are not the significant causes of water usage they still are a portion of that water usage. A way we could save water is to finish all that water, drink only when we're thirsty, and give any leftover water to the plants, making it a double win. Another way we could save water is to use more drought resistant plants, or fake plants.
In the article “Water Worries Grow in the Desert Southwest,” Rice (2013) talks about climate changes and causes that impact on water in the desert Southwest. The author mentioned Native Americans, they used canals and dams to bring water since 10 centuries. Today, there are 56 million Americans growing up in Southwest and they have region’s natural dryness. Also, Arizona state has less rain every year around 7.5 inches. In addition, Colorado River is most important to help 30 million people in Southwest.

This small town is going through difficult times and may be obsolete and be a abandoned town due to living conditions. These Men and Women and small children are all receiving this horrible time and can 't even have a nice shower when they want . The news of this gold also brought people from everywhere to california. The gold rush did not just have people finding gold, but these people also built little towns. In the towns came people that had built and managed stores.
Homelessness is a rising issue and has always been prominent in America. Many people line the city streets hoping for money and/or food/water. However this problem is not only in the city, this happens in all sorts of places. Most people have encountered a homeless person on the sidewalk or elsewhere and will usually feel the wave of guilt of not having cash but at the same time wearing nice clothes or holding shopping bags. Homelessness is a sad tragedy, fortunately, there are solutions such as starting a government fund especially for ending homelessness, relying on the kindness of people to help out, and/or building more shelters in city areas.
