What will happen when there is no longer water in California? California’s drought has impacted thousands of lives over the past three years and now entering the fourth. California-Nevada Climate Applications Program states usually, water evaporates from the Tropical Pacific Ocean as winds transfer the water vapor toward the U.S. West Coast. Oppositely, in 2014 the water vapor split and carried to either North or South of California. Although, many people know of the situation, many don’t understand or take into consideration how to solve the problem. Numerous residents are wasting water without realizing it. “It’s just a bad habit” students at The Valley Academy of Arts and Sciences High School have mentioned. But it is a poor habit that is making the horrible situation in California so much worse. Citizens keep the sprinklers on during winter, keep the water running while brushing teeth as well as washing hands. Examples of a few environmental issues are lower water levels in lakes and an increase in wildfires; so many wild animals are having a major loss of water and food. This drought is not only impacting the environment, but businesses as well. According to “Reveal: Why the California Drought Affects Everyone”, farmers are losing money as the heat and lack of water destroys their crops. Ranchers must spend more money on feed and water for their animals; people are also paying more for their own food. In the future citizens experience social impacts such as anxiety and/or depression about economic losses. Health problems and loss of human life can be additionally be caused by poor water quality.
