For an eEndless amount of time, water in the Ssouthwest, has always been like gold. Its simple science, water, equates to life. However, now, that gold that flows clear like crystal, is starting to run dry. But why?, Wwhat is causing this severe lack of hydration and, don't we have a huge river and numerous reservoirs to save us from something like this? TheAnd the answer is that we do, however, after years of drought, now now, these sources are depleted as well. The world of California today is immensely populated by not only people, but by agriculture. California makes up some of the most profitable and highest producing farm ground in the United States. FWhy, because for so long, as long as you put water on the ground, it would grow things. According to “Public Policy Institute Of California” (PPIC),. “ Approximately nine million acres of farmland in California are irrigated, representing roughly 80% of all human water use” (“Water Use in California”)..” Tthat means that 80-90% of the entire water total statewide goes onto fields. Thisat is good, because as states earlier, California produces a large quantity of various agricultural farm products. Lastly, I have spent a lot of time in Ooregon now, and tThe Columbia River, which is approximately four times larger than the Ccolorado, has water, most of which and most of it, flows straight out to the ocean., Iif california really wanted to solve their water problem forever, they would stop spending $68 bBillion dollars on a light rail, and work out a deal with Ooregon to tap some water out of the
