In the article “California Drought: Governor Jerry Brown Issues Water Rules” for the Cable News Network, Ray Sanchez explains how Governor Jerry Brown is taking drastic measures to reduce California’s water usage. To do that, he has established many rules and restrictions on the people of California, as well as its businesses and farms. Governor Brown states that this drought needs extraordinary actions, as it has shown in the Sierra Nevada Mountains which has lost snow and are now covered with dry and brown grass. I agree with Sanchez and Governor Brown about imposing these rules and restriction on the people of California because these restrictions are going to help guide California out of the drought or at least help maintain and not let this drought get any worse than it already is. The article was not well-structured because it lacked a good hook and the article was all over the place, in my take. I was persuaded by the author because it had some good ideas and solutions to helping California recover or find its way to recovery. I was mainly persuaded because I felt that this article was written to me and the people of California. I understand and know the current situation of California and its desperate need for water. Being a California resident and seeing these rules and restrictions is hard to imagine because it shows that this drought is real and requires extraordinary action, as Governor Brown stated in the article (Sanchez). Governor Brown also declared that this drought is possibly the worst drought California has ever witnessed and been a part of (Sanchez). Sanchez uses a lot of quotes from Governor Brown for his article as evidence and
