As we all know, Edgar Allan Poe was an American poet who wrote about the darker things in life. His genre was Gothic, and he was mostly known for being the central figure of Romanticism. Born January 19th, 1809: Edgar Poe died on the 7th of October. But how did he die? His death has still remained mysterious. Edgar Allen Poe was an all right ideal type of man. His parents had died at the age of three. He was taken in by wealthy tobacco merchants. When he had went to college he became in debt. His parents had only sent him a reasonable amount of money. He began writing short stories when people began noticing him. He started entering contests and instantly became a fan favorite. There were not a lot of people that attended his funeral. I guess that’s why the idea of gang related activity was brought up. Did Edgar have enemies? Did he have friends? A theory of him being poisoned had been brought up. But nobody knows what the truth is. There are many theories on how Edgar died. Was he killed from a beating? Was he killed from alcohol enhancement? I’ve proposed that he was just an old drunk, an overdosed mutt. But that’s just my allegations. My reasoning is quite simple. A man in that time had to be an alcoholic to have a partner known as his “drinking buddy.” He had partnered with numerous people to have drinks; he was found passed out multiple times. Biographer E. Oakes Smith introduced the theory of him dying from a beating to death. He stated that “who considered herself injured by him, he was cruelly beaten, blow upon blow, by a ruffian who knew of no better mode of avenging supposed injuries.
