On June 6th 1944 over 160,000 allied troops landed across a 50 mile stretch along the coastline of Normandy. More than 5,000 ships, and 13,000 aircraft supported the D’Day invasion. They were going to fight Nazi Germany on the beaches of Normandy. The main countries that invaded Germany was the United States, the United KIngdom, and Canada. However, there were other troops from Australia, Belgium ,Czechoslovakia, France, Greece, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway and Poland. All the troops allied to fight the germans. The whole point of D-Day was to free the Jews from the Germans. All the troops were fighting for the lives the Jews, whether that was their religon or not.
