We all know the saying “children of today are the future of tomorrow”, and that is very true. If we want to keep our society growing in knowledge, technology, and humanity? The children of today are the key and it all starts with books. In the world today censorship is a big deal when it comes to children. Now i’m not talking about the censoring in the movies, video games, or the internet because a lot of the stuff does need to be censored. I’m talking about censoring in school and books. Many parents and administrators and possibly the government want certain things censored in school because they believe some of the books kids are reading or some content being taught is inappropriate. It show how important books are, and the power they can have. I am personally not a big reader, I never have been, but this book shows me the power that books can have. It makes me think that maybe I should start to read more so I can have the knowledge and power to help change to world. Help with the government and politics to prevent us from making the same mistakes we have made in the past. I have learned so much these past three weeks of school about government in Mrs. Hankins class! The knowledge I have received from reading about war and pre-war incidents helped me see how wars start and the main causes why they start. There are things that are the same, but not even close to being on the same scale like kids being violent. In the book he says kids kill people for fun, kids are not that violent. Also books aren’t band, yes they are starting to censor a lot more, but nowhere near banning them. I don’t think even when I am forty things will be that way. I think all the problems we have now will increase a little bit, but not to that extent. And if I want to help play a role in preventing our society from becoming like Montag’s, I think the best way i can do that is by reading and educating young kids as much as I
