A 1. The leader chosen for this ethical report is a Certified Nurse Assistant that was promoted to a team leader. The team lead of a residential care facility has demonstrated the ability to distinguish when a fellow employee is performing duties according to policies and to reward for positive behavior. One of the team leader ethical traits is to lead by example, she sets up structure in the organization that applies to neatness and tidiness and expects other team mates to do the same. She tries to follow the policies of the organization and promotes the importance of doing the right thing. My preferred ethical lens is results and reputation. Getting results in everything that I do is crucial. I don’t believe in giving up on anything and I have to see the final product. If I don’t get it right the first time, I will try and try again. I believe if you put your mind to it, it is possible to achieve anything. This drives the ability to have a good work ethic, and not to settle unless satisfied. I believe a good name is my reputation. I believe having a good reputation is better than having riches. I want to be known for the one that follows through on what I believe. a. At work I train individuals to be results driven. I teach individuals to work efficient and effective. Working without a purpose is a waste of time and resources. I work to get results daily, if there are no results it is counterproductive. Everything I do, I analyze and ask the question what is the end results in doing this task. Also at work, I train employees to think having a good reputation is far better off than riches. I have to assess everything that I do, to outweigh the benefit. In my church I am a Sunday school teacher and the benefit/ results is that children are learning the word of God. In the community performing health fairs the results is that individuals that don’t have a physician gets education needed for different disease processes. It is rewarding to know that the results are positive. Reputation is important in my social life as well, being part of groups people know you for who you are. Having a fulfilled reputation is part of who I am. 2. My blind spot: I have a lot responsibilities, I tend to lack getting important things done for individuals that depend on me. I put others first before myself, trying to meet everyone needs. I have so many duties and responsibilities and forgetting to take care of myself and to seek my needs to be met. a. In order for me to mitigate my blind spot, I will need to decrease the time spent on things that are not a priority. I find myself stuck trying to fix a lot of things that I have delegated to the staff, that wasn’t done to my expectation. Whenever I do this, I diminish the responsibility of the team. This in turn puts me into the position to fail those who depend on
