The Cesar Chavez movie is about a Mexican born man bringing the mexican and filipino field workers together to build up the farm workers union. The main type of protest that he and his followers participated in were nonviolent boycotts. This all mainly took place in Delano, California. Working conditions were very poor for both groups and they had very poor and unfair wages. The two groups also experienced racism and brutality from their employers. To help these workers Chávez built up strikes. One of their most recognized is the grape strike over Victorre products. Though this had a great impact on the purpose they were fighting for, it had a toll on his whole family. They ended up marching to Sacramento,CA and being noticed by those along the way. He stood up for his people and others that were being treated poorly even when others told him he would make no impact. He showed me that with courage and never giving up on something you truly want or rightfully deserve can lead to victory even if it does take a long time to achieve it. Chávez did not just fight for those people at that time he fought for all those who could not put their feelings out into the world for the fear of losing their job and furthering the starvation of their family. Chávez was a strong man and I respect him. He is truly the meaning of hope, when he was beaten down he continued to get right back up, over and over again until it finally paid off. He showed courage when it was all lost and he showed sacrifice when the others could not. Where he made sacrifice most of the time the others did as well, especially if they had children. Being in this movement as I could tell from the movie was very intense, exhausting, and heartbreaking. It probably ate away at each person involved but they all stuck with it and earned what they deserved in the first
