Even though his little brother would make varsity as a sophomore a excel in everything his brother couldn’t. So far i have not finished this book but I like this book a lot it has meaning. This book isn’t hard to read at all it is an average book to read. The author did a good job of writing and presenting the story with his word choice and good descriptions of people,
The book I read is called Long Shot, by Mike Lupica. This book is about a kid named Pedro Morales and his basketball team. He moved from Mexico to the United States (US) as a little kid. He loved to play basketball, but couldn’t decide whether to take full responsibility for the basketball team or his education to make his parents proud especially his dad. He was best friends with a character named Ned.
In the novel boy21 by Matthew Quick, there was a character named Finley and one named Russ or Boy21, who both loved to play basketball, they also had a Coach who is sometimes helpful and sometimes really hard on them. To begin one reason Coach was helpful is, he supported Finley throughout his school career. Coach would push him and continued telling him to keep up the good work and during basketball practice, he would tell him to keep shooting no matter how many times he missed the shot. “Keep shooting, Coach says get all your misses out today” (Quick 128).
The character I had wrote about is Andy Mott. He has gone through a lot in his life. I had put a piece of a prosthetic leg because he has lost his leg. His teammates found out after he told them. The story he had said was horrible.

I read the book Night Hoops, by: Carl Deuker. This book is about a boy named Nick that is dealing with some problems that are more than just basketball. He meets a boy names Trent Dawson who he was not too fond of at first, Trent is going through a lot more than Nick is in his home life, so Nick takes Trent under his wing to help keep him out of trouble. But at first Trent seems to resist and says he doesn’t need help. He ends up running out every night with his brother to get into some trouble.
Being a kid at High Point is pretty basic, white americans who all speak english and drive BMW’s and Range Rovers. For junior point guard Jorge Perez- Laham, it was different story, he had a rougher transition than most kids going into college. Born in San Juan and raised in Canovanas, Puerto Rico; Perez- Laham Picked up the sport of basketball at a young age by learning from his family. “I was probably 5 when I started playing, my mom was the person who got me into basketball because she used to play in college and professionally, also being able to watch my older brother play while growing up taught me a lot.” Perez-Laham lived in Puerto Rico until 17 then moved to Miami for his senior year of high school for basketball.
No matter his size, he was always be the one putting in the most effort and work. All in all, in the book Travel Team, by Mike Lupica, Danny is an unstoppable kid who is in love with the game of basketball and nothing can stop him. No one can crush his dreams nor his confidence. Danny proved that just because of your size, doesn’t mean you can’t be the best. His dedication proves that he is willing to sacrifice anything, which many people should learn from.
