In my opinion call of the wild was a great book and I highly advise it to anyone. There were a few boring parts in it though but other than that still really good. My personal favorite chapter was chapter three. There is a lot that happens in this book and I think anyone would gladly enjoy it. I hope if u ever read u will. The setting in this book takes place during the Klondike gold rush of 1897. It starts though in the tropical place of San Diego until a sudden turn of events happens. Then the setting changes to the cold ice covered Alaska. The character goes through a lot of changes in order to survive. This is what the setting is of this book. My favorite part out of these chapters was when buck saw his first snow and didn’t know how to react. My least favorite part was when Buck was beaten nearly to death by the man in the red sweater. These two chapters did have some good parts like when Buck was first bought by Francois. This is my opinion on chapters one and two. My opinion on chapters three and four is that they were full of action and suspense. My favorite part was when Buck and Spitz finally fought out to the death. The part I liked the least was when Dolly was killed by getting hit in the head with an axe. The part I would change about the two chapters is that dolly wasn’t killed in such a horrible way. This is my opinion on chapters three and four. I think the theme of this book is that every animal no matter how tamed will always know that they are a part of the wild. I think this because Buck was very tame and never had any interest in hunting for food or anything like that until he was forcefully put into the wild. Also another reason I think this is because eventually Buck ran off into the wild with actual animals from the wilderness and was just like them. Also every animal every species has that instinct of the wild that calls to them. This is what I think the theme
