The quote “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass it’s about learning how to dance in the rain” means that we should learn how to our lives even at struggling times of our lives. There are times when we are feeling down or going through tough times. Weather it’s bad grades or a tragic event. I can make a text to text connection from this quote. In the book “We Beat The Street” by George W Jenkins, Rameck Hunt, and Sampson Davis, is about a how three african americans from Newark, New Jersey became successful doctors.

My honest opinion is that Kavita has progressively gotten worse in terms of her attitude. she was on bad terms with 99.9% of the people in pharmacy and the COR staff at the time she was fired. The use of children in the Sierra Leone Civil War was widespread, with up to 10,000 children taking part in the conflict and up to eighty percent of RUF forces between the ages of seven and fourteen. Ishmael is one of these children. In his memoir, A Long Way Gone, Lieutenant Jabati and his men exploit several techniques to transform these frightened children into ruthless killing machines. They do this through the use of drugs, pop culture, as well as character and emotional manipulation. Tactics like these create habits and addictions that are almost impossible to break.

Humility makes people go from important to memorable. In order to have humility, you have to be able to put aside the views of society, you have to be able to forget about the risks, you have to be able to do what is right. When people think of humility, they often get confused with humiliation. Humiliation is being dishonored; Humility is the act of being humble. Criss Jami, an author and philosopher, on humility once said, “The biggest challenge after success is shutting up about it.”
In this story there is a quote that I feel is really important to the book. This quote ties into a few if not all of the main characters in this book. Jake made a painting and he wrote these words on top of his portrait, “You’re braver than you believe.” These words not only had a powerful impact on Jake, but many of the others as well. This quote really reveals some of the better and stronger sides of the characters in this book.
Who Was Lydia? Celeste Ng, author of the novel Everything I Never Told You, explores the dynamics of a family sodden with racial limitations, burdened with expectations, and plagued with an urge to belong. Ng, throughout the novel, seems to view the concept of being an “other” in society as a negative but necessary aspect of life and that is seemingly reflected with the Lees family. What sets the Lees apart from others is that they are a racially-diverse family and each member of the family is alienated by each other and society.
In the story, Everything Is Okay, the main character wants to make decisions that make him different from his family. He is powerless to make decisions and control as a young child; he makes choices different from what his family would make, and he wants to make his own decisions and choose how he grows up. An example of the main character being unable to make decisions as he is powerless and young is when he tells his mom that the kitten is his "and it's going to be my pet. "
The Contrast is the first play both written and performed by the newly made Americans following independence, including a host of characters that are both amusing and relatable. The show introduces the audience to two very different sorts of characters. One half of the characters, like Billy and Charlotte, are very outspoken and unreserved. While the other half are characters like Maria, who are more focused on fulfilling their duties and doing what they believe to be honorable. The Contrast never directly claims which characters are more like “true Americans,” instead, it creates a story that inclines the audience to pick sides between fun and boring, wild and good.

Therefore, one should not waste their time on idleness and inactiveness, but instead with productivity and industriousness. Thomas Jefferson once wrote, “Work while it is called today, for you know not how much you will be hindered tomorrow. One today is worth two tomorrow's; never leave that till tomorrow which you can do today.” This quote by Jefferson signifies that each day is of value and that no day should be wasted. He is trying to help people understand that at any moment their life could end and they would not be able to make up the lost time.
