Graham Salisbury used character traits throughout “The Ravine” to tell us about Vinny and Joe-Boy and how much they really are “friends”. One example is that Joe-Boy told Vinny “Hey, Vinny, just think, that kid walked where you walking.” and Vinny’s reaction was “Shuddup.”. This infers that their “friendship” is more of an excuse for Joe-Boy to bully Vinny. Another example from the text on page 4 is that Joe-Boy says to Vinny “Hey, maybe you going be the the one to find his body.” and Vinny responds by saying if “If you don’t stop I’m gonna…” and Joe-Boy says “What?
