In the book Into The Wild by Jon Krakauer a minor character that had a major influences in the book is Jim Gallien. The way that Jim Gallien played an important role in the book is he dropped McCandless off at Mt. McKinley. If Gallien wasn't such a generous person McCandless might have not made it to Mt. McKinley or the abandoned bus so that he could have changed McCandless mind and he could have turned around and gone south and traveled all around America again.
