Character Analysis Essay Being a curious person has its bad and good traits. William Tillman was one of the main characters in the book Dreamland Burning. the 1920s was the time period in which Will was based. In the beginning, Will gets in a fight with Clarence, who is an African American. Clarence ends up dying by some of the KKK members. William is going through a period of growth as a person and realizing that people are hurting others. William demonstrates curious, brave, and apologetic thoughts throughout the novel.

William is a curious character. Throughout the novel, he shows it by looking and wanting to know things and by trying to help others. In the text “For it let me leave the storeroom door cracked open enough to hear pops start the negotiations”( Latham, 100). This shows that he wanted to hear the conversation that pop’s and Joseph were having. He wanted to know what was going to happen.
