In the novel, Farewell to Manzanar by Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston and James D Houston, the main character is put through a lot of devastating, circumstantial situations that causes her overall development to be quite different from others. Seeing as she is telling the story, readers get to know Jeanne tremendously throughout the plot. Jeanne is a very family oriented person, and needs that support to get through the rough patches she hits after the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941. When Jeanne and her family were first forced to Manzanar, Jeanne is at a very prime and impressionable part of her life. Her family and friends she meets at Manzanar help to shape who she will grow up to be as a person.
Disagreements brought among two can greatly cause an uncertain effect on those surrounded by them, as well as each other. Innocent minded children are targeted to be easily influenced. That is until that child starts becoming experienced and learns to lead his own path perpetually discovering his autonomy. Gabriel and Maria, a dissimilar couple introduced from Rudolfo Anaya’s “Bless Me, Ultima”, presents a conflicting environment on those having to deal with their differing ideal beliefs. Maria, a Luna, daughter of a farmer, peaceful and quiet like the moon.
Throughout history, we have seen many people thinking they can take over on their own, and rule and conquer the world. We have seen it in people, leaders, and much more. You have guys like Hitler, Osama Bin Laden, Stalin, Paul Castellano, John Gotti with many more. They tried to manipulate and conquer but failed because they haven't realized that to rule you need someone else, like Jordan and Pippen, Brady has Belichick and Jay Z had Beyonce. This is also why, you see those people got killed or killed themselves in an attempt to escape reality.
Once we accept our limits, we go beyond them. In life we accept challenges and once we accept those challenges we can continue to grow. In the novel, “Bless me Ultima” written by Rudolfo Anaya; Antonio, is a seven year old boy who went through many twist and turns with a keenly questioning mind, a great deal of moral curiosity, and a solemn appreciation for the seriousness of life. I compare myself to Antonio do to the fact that we both were engaged with knowing destiny, learning to get over our fears, and learning to accept life and the challenges that came along with it.
As Holden searches for authenticity in his relationships with others, Mr. Spencer, Carl Luce, and Mr. Antolini guide him to understanding the importance of trust. Even though Holden has mentors throughout the book, he has to discover that trust is the basis of all relationships on his own. Holden receives a collection of confusing, but relevant advice throughout the story starting when Mr. Spencer, whom tells Holden "Life is a game", hinting that it's hard and competitive. Mr. Spencer continues his conversation by yelling his frustration "what's the matter with you” expressing his uncaring and disgraceful nature hoping to help Holden. Mr. Spencer finally sums up his opinions, making Holden feel uncertain by putting pressure on Holden when
Soraya and General Taheri have a relationship proving that an imbalance of power is unhealthy. When Soraya runs off with an Afghan man at age eighteen, General Taheri appears within a month with a gun in hand threatening to kill the man and then himself (Hosseini 179). Through this act he asserts his power and control over Soraya’s life, which causes Soraya to loathe her father. General Taheri’s dominance also causes him to seem embarrassed of Soraya and he is quick to change the subject when his daughter is brought up in conversation (Hosseini 141). General Taheri does not hide his disappointment in Soraya for not conforming to Afghan standards and tries to control her decisions.
A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry is a play which contains many different obstacles that the characters face. One character, Beneatha, faces an obstacle that is out of her control. This obstacle is gender inequality. Throughout A Raisin in the Sun, gender inequality is experienced by Beneatha and reflects the struggles women faced in the 1950s. One of the issues that Beneatha faces in the play is her relationships with two men in her life, George Murchison and Joseph Asagai.

Most of Vladek Spiegelman has many (strange) personality traits. He can be headstrong, stingy, short-tempered and even borderline racist at times. As the reader reads through Maus I and II, it is learned that most of these things about him stem from his experience being a Holocaust survivor and living through World War II. Before the war, he didn 't exhibit these traits. With his first wife Anja, he is undoubtedly kind, compassionate, and wealthy.
This morning, I noticed that I was out of milk. So I decided to go and get some, to avoid a repeated day of desolation. I found myself at an out of town gas station, although being in my bed sounded much more peaceful. I went all the way out of town for milk because of the infuriating press. They are outside of my home, just waiting for me to come outside so they could humiliate me more than I already was.
In the novel, The Chrysalids, by John Wyndham, Michael, one of the central characters, demonstrates character traits of a hero and leadership qualities. He is considered a blasphemy in his community because he is telepathic; however, no one knows of his telepathy, except his telepathic group, since on the outside, he looks completely normal. Michael is originally from Waknuk, a religious community where people strictly believe in the true image of God, and later goes to a different school in Kentak. As the novel progresses, he becomes a hero to his community, friends, and to the people who matter to him. He is willing to risk his life that made it possible for him to rescue and guide his friends escaping from the persecution in Waknuk.
The Evolution of Chanda Although many people see people surrounded by AIDS as weak humans with loose morals and personality, there is another stand on AIDS. In Chanda 's Secret 's by Alan Stratton the unrelenting truth is revealed that everyone has a story, a situation, which matures the person or destroys them in a way that society try’s to categorize. Throughout the novel Chanda is the tool in which this is revealed through heart wrenching experiences and life lessons. Her strong compassion and convincing courage are unique quirks to her personality that show how she takes a stand in her AIDS infested community, as she changes the stereotype. .
Ecology of Yosemite The development of Yosemite’s ecology started around 15,000 years ago when glaciers present at the time started to melt. The glaciers scraped away soil and vegetation, thus leaving a barren landscape of smooth granite behind when the ice melted. Since granite is one of the most erosion-resistant rocks on the planet, it was a very long process for soil to reform. Eventually, enough soil was built up to support trees and forests.
Uncle Marcos is a character of numerous traits and descriptions. He is a man of no fear or hesitation. At times, a lack of respect is shown by Uncle Marcos in addition to his horrid manners. Uncle Marcos can be described as adventurous as he attends dangerous expeditions, periodically life threatening. Uncle Marcos is universally a care free man with the occasional lack of manners and concern for others.
