Characteristics of inquiry based learning
According to Dr Bill Hutchings (n.d) inquiry based learning is an environment where learners develops their own learning in their learning environment. Learners have to need to classify their own problems and questions, and find possible solutions, they need to conduct a research in order to find resolutions to their questions and problems. Dr Bill went ahead and gave out the characteristics of inquiry based learning that teachers need to be aware off.

The teacher can use science because the learners are going to have a lot of questions about it, which will enable to predict and research solutions in order to get the correct answer. Learners like science, but the only information that the teacher provide them is not enough, inquiry learning will tap into their curiosity and helps them to understand the information better.
