The theme of the book and the movie. The history, family, sacrifice, humanity, hope, identity, and to never forget and always remember. Most of the same characters are seen in both. Such as Hannah, Rivka, Aunt Eva, and the couple Fagie and Shmuel.
And the climax is alike and different. The settings in ‘’The Monsters on Maple Street’’ and ‘’The Andy Griffith Show’’ are alike because they both are set in a area or place where everybody knows everyone else. The mood in the passages are similar because you are always questioning what's going to happen next. The irony in the passages that's similar is that the things that are happening is normal. The theme is that don't be too quick to judge when you don't have very much evidence.
Charles written by Shirley Jackson and the show Dennis the Menace have a lot of similarities. But did you know that they also have a lot of differences? Something I've noticed about these two stories, besides their similarities and differences, is that they both support the theme, “It’s easier to see other people's mistakes than to see your own.'' For example, both stories included a moment where the parents see only the bad in a child other than theirs. Like how in Dennis the Menace when his parents went to the movies and left Dennis with a new babysitter, they came into an encounter with a misbehaving child in the movies.

One similarity is that Mrs. Hutchinson stands up for what she believes in, just like Harrison in the story, "Harrison Bergeron". Both the characters actually stand up for something they believe in front of everybody, which takes some major courage. Plus, all the people in the story, with the exception of Mrs. Hutchinson and Harrison Bergeron (maybe the ballerina in "Harrison Bergeron") participate in something. This includes them wearing the handicaps for "Harrison Bergeron" and actually stoning a person every year in the story "The Lottery". And lastly, somebody in the story does not believe in the rules.
The differences and similarities between the Video family and Fransisco's family are quite diverse. Fransisco received candy, while the children got a trip to Disney world! Since Fransisco was wishing and hoping for a ball, he was very disappointed in his gift. On the other hand, the small children were so excited, they were shocked. Christmas's in Fransisco's family were pretty different than the video family.
Throughout our everyday life we compare everything; we see how all kinds of things are similar and different, whether it's with cats and dogs, or wolves and people. A huge part of when we compare and contrast is when we are reading. The stories, “St. Lucy’s Home for Girls Raised by Wolves”, “The Interlopers”, and “The Wife’s Story” all have similarities with each other but also they have many differences that make the stories come down to a lesson you will learn. The three stories of , “St. Lucy’s Home for Girls Raised by Wolves”, “The Interlopers”, and “The Wife’s Story” are more different than they are alike. In particular, the characters from the 3 stories are similar because each character did not get along with one or more characters.
Although there are many differences between the two, there are also many similarities. Like how in both the movie and the novel she outsmarts the
Because of the statuses of each person who attends Douglass’ school, they have a common ground to discuss with each other. Although Douglass is not technically a slave like most of the others learning from him, he still is in the lowest social tier and African American. Because of their corresponding similarities, the slaves and Douglass bond over their hardships while understanding what the others are going through. It is easy to sympathize with each other because they are in the same situation. During the time period this was written, society purposely made African American slaves feel like they didn’t belong and like they were outcasts.

One big similarity is foreshadowing. This took place in both articles, for, “Charles,” an example of foreshadowing is when he had to think who misbehaved and said than finally said, “Charles.” An example of foreshadowing in, “The Lottery,” is when Old Man Warner says, “ Lottery in June, corn be heavy soon.” This can indicate that the people of the village are sacrificing a human, which they are.
The night of the 8th grade dance. It’s suppose to be one of the greatest times of an eighth grader's school year right? Nothing too bad could go wrong, besides stupid drama...right? Students dancing around, hanging out with their friends, and taking pictures in a photo booth sound great!... well maybe not quite…

The character from the story Charles named Laurie ( protagonist ) seems like a sweet boy and a stereotypical boy who go to kindergarten and sing along to nursery rhymes , but due to kids today and the way things media gives them and the way they entertain has a big impact on the younger children to grow up faster .when the story starts to describe him things take a turn. He portrays many awful traits such as barbaric , secretive and self absorbed. First , Throughout the story Laurie shows disrespectful behaviors , this is shown when Laurie 's family sits down to eat lunch and Laurie 's says to his father " look up look down at my thumb gee you 're dumb" .
