Charles Cotesworth Pinckney was born to planters, Eliza Lucas Pinckney and Charles Pinckney on February 25, 1746. He grew up in Charleston, South Carolina, with two brothers and one sister. (Wikipedia). His mother, Eliza, was a wealthy and brilliant agriculturist who introduced a new cash crop--indigo. His father, Charles, was a successful politician.
Charles Arthur Payne, Jr. was born on 1/14/1964 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St.Louis, MO. Both of his parents have passed away. Charles never met his birth father. He passed away from drowning. Charles ' mother remarried Charles G. Hankins.
B.B King Riley B. King was born on September 16, 1945 on a plantation in Itta Benna, Mississippi. As a child, he was raised by his grandmother when his mother left him for another man. His music career began during his childhood when he would sing in his church choir. He then taught school for several years in the new black high school that was opened in his town. In 1903, Young served as captain of a black company.
The documentary "The Black Power Mixtape 1967-1975" directed by Göran Olsson explores the Black Power Movement in this time period. It distinct itself from other documentary in the way it presents its content and arguments. This is mostly due to the fact that the footage was taken at the time, while many commentaries are from the 21st century.
