Charlotte's Web by E. B. White the book, and film directed by Gary Winick is 'some story' as few would say. The film was released in 2006, but there's no clear time set in the film, if I had to guess, I'd say early 80's. Both book and movie have the same plot with only slight differences. The story line starts with a girl named fern who is stopping her father from about to kill the right of the piglets. After saving his life, she named him Wilbur and vows to take care of him no matter what. Once he starts growing a bit, Fern’s parents decided they needed to sell him. They ended up bartering Wilbur to the Zuckerman‘s farm across the street, where she would be able to go see him every day. For example, Fern brings will be to school in the movie but not in the book, this makes her character in the movie show even more how much she cares for Wilbur. The farm animals in the movie also seemed reluctant to Charlotte when she was first introduced; however, in the book they seemed unbothered by her when she first appeared. This could just be a way the movie director wanted to portray the farm animals to make it seem more interesting when she introduced herself. Another example is when in the book, Wilbur was told by the sheep about the smokehouse, yet in the movie Templeton, the rat, was the one that told him. And again, this could just be a director’s choice of how he wanted Templeton to be portrayed in the movie. A huge difference between the book and the movie is that in the book, Charlotte’s death was known by the beginning, but in the movie, there was no knowledge of Charlotte dying until she has a conversation with another farm animal about going to the county fair to help Wilbur near the end. I believe these differences were mostly to help further develop characters for the movie and to better entertain the
