On the 14th of June 1928,Ernesto 'Che' Guevara was born in Rosario, Argentina. Che Guevara came from a wealthy family,he was the eldest of five children. He attended Medical School in the University of Buenos Aires in 1947. Guevara took a break from his studies in 1952 to motorcycle around South America for nine months,he travelled with his friend Alberto Granado. Throughout his travels, Guevara began to develop an interest in Marxism and communism. During his journey he wrote a diary,this diary became a famous book in 2003.
When Guevara finished his journey he went back to Buenos Aires to complete Medical School. After his graduation, Guevara devoted his life to being a revolutionary. While he was in Mexico in 1955,he met Fidel Castro and his brother,Raul Castro. He joined with Fidel

The rebels carried out guerilla warfare attacks on the troops and defeated Batista's troops. In late Autumn of 1958,A Cuban plane was hijacked departing from Miami.The plane delivered ammunition to the revolutionaries. Guevara became second-in-command of the large group of revolutionaries that had gathered in the Sierra Maestra mountain range.
Guevara led his group of 300 to Santa Clara were there was over 2000 federal troops. The rebels were mostly supported by the people of Santa Clara. The group arrived on December 28 and the fighting occurred for three days.The rebels got control of the police headquarters of the city.Guevara and the rebels defeated the large force in the city of Santa Clara on December 31st.
Meanwhile,Government officials tried to negotiate with Castro to salvage the situation and halt the bloodshed. Guevara and Castro's troops approached Havana in 1959.They seized power from Bastista. Castro became President of Cuba and Guevara was involved in many jobs from 1959-1961. Guevara was in charge of executions which took place in La Cabaña Fortress
