Ever wanted to learn about the bad guy in history? This person made a major effect in history.He was the Mexican leader, he lead 4000 Mexican troops to invade the Alamo, one of the most protected pieces by the Texans. This person in history is, Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna or Santa Anna for short. Santa Anna was born in Jalapa, Vera Cruz, on february 21, 1794, he was the son of Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna and Manuela Perez de Lebron. Santa Anna’s family belonged to the middle class. His father served as a sub delegate for the Spanish. After a limited schooling young Santa Anna worked for a merchant of Vera Cruz. Being in many battles after that and after that, Santa Anna grew older being in more and more battles as that happened we’ll move on to his later life. As Santa Anna grew older he became five-time president of Mexico. In March of 1821 he made the first of the dramatic shifts of allegiance that characterized his military and political career by joining the rebel forces.Defeating the spanish invasion at Tampico and emerged from the campaign as a national hero, in 1829. In the course of his campaign he demonstrated several of his characteristics military strength and weaknesses; he was able to pull an army together quickly and with severely limited resources, but he also combined elaborate planning with slipshod and faulty execution. In 1836 he marched north with his forces to play his controversial role in the Texas Revolution. After his capture by Sam Houston's army, he was sent to Washington, D.C., whence he returned to Mexico. He retired to his estates at Manga de Clavo for a time, then emerged to join the
