Picture this scenario in your head. You live under a ruler that has promised you that everything is going to be different now that he is in charge. Everything is going to be better than before. As the years go on, your alleged golden home is now worse than the previous dictator, and you live in fear that you are going to be killed because of something that you think. Would you want to live in this situation? Now picture this scenario, but now with farm animals! And the ruler, is a big fat pig named Napoleon! I am here to talk about how the system of checks and balances would have helped eliminate the abuse of power of Napoleon and his minions in the book Animal Farm by George Orwell. If the system of checks and balances were in play, the legislative branch would be able to impeach POTUS if they had committed a crime and send them off to trial with the Judicial branch. The Judicial branch would look at the law that was being challenged and would deem the action that was done either constitutional or unconstitutional, (the constitution in this case being the seven commandments)Through a simple majority out of nine judges. If the law that was being challenged was deemed unconstitutional, POTUS would go back to being in office. However, if the Judicial branch deemed the laws that were being challenged (a.k.a broken) constitutional, that would make POTUS leave office and go to prison. This would help the elimination of Napoleon’s abuse of power because it would make it that once Napoleon had broken his first law (first of many), he would not be able to stay in that position of power any
