There are 6 Important principles in the Constitution, Federalism, Republicanism, Popular Sovereignty, Limited Government, Separation of Powers and most importantly Checks and Balances. Checks and Balances are the counterbalancing powers which ensure that political power is not concentrated in one or more groups.
