In 18th century Britain started a new revolution, the machines made products are quickly replacing the the hand-made products. The faster production line pushed production of factory system to an edge, and around about tens of thousands of farmers, independent artisans, handicraft workshop workers, lost their job which made their next generation became child laborers.
The machine factories needed small children more than men are because for some processes in the production line the factory needed little flexible fingers and tiny bodies which is what children have. The children are obedient towards every task you give also have less income than adults, so the factories are more likely to employ children.
