The quiet/rest center will have pumpkin and candy corn shaped pillows. The blankets will be red, orange, and brown. Also, our night lights will be shaped as sleepy scarecrows. There will also be a leaf mobile hanging over where the children sleep. The cots which the children sleep on will have handmade sleepy scarecrow covers on them. Surrounding the quiet/rest center will be a canopy held up by smooth tree branches. There will also be a CD player with multiple CDs that have lullabies on them which include a CD titled, "Autumn Lullabies" which will surely soothe your little one to sleep! During this fall season the table will be equipped with corn instead of sand. Once the seasons change, the corn will be traded with artificial snow, beans, and then sand. This table will have floating artificial leaves, a floating mayflower, a sand and water wheel, a small shovel and rake and small pilgrims to ride the mayflower. Around this center will be three posters talking about the pilgrims. The first poster will be of the pilgrims and Native Americans eating during the first Thanksgiving. The second poster will be of a pumpkin that is cut in half and labeled by its various parts. The final poster is of an apple core that is also labeled by its various parts. On a table will be multiple woven baskets with items in them that are labeled by basket. These baskets will include items in them such as gourds, pumpkin seeds, acorns, leaves (artificial), pinecones, apples (plastic), small sticks, and wheat. The children will be encouraged to discover the in more detail by exploring them with the magnifying glasses provided. This center will encourage your child to discover nature and excite them about history.
