I, Kimberly Berke, consider myself to be the perfect candidate for the elementary education program. I know I have what it takes to complete the program and begin my career as a teacher. My dream of becoming a teacher started with my close relationships with my teachers and coaches in junior high and high school. I carry many strengths, a strong teaching philosophy, and prior/upcoming professional teaching experience. Strengths of mine for the classroom includes patience, kindness, encouragement, communication, and engagement. These strengths are key essentials to my teaching philosophy and upcoming teacher experiences.

My prior work experience in teaching began when I started volunteering at my local church to administrate a Sunday school class. The group I worked with was always rather large. This experience gave me the skills such as, classroom management, authority, and leadership. However, this summer I plan to work at Daysprings in Mountain Home, AR. Daysprings is an outpatient mental health clinic. At this job I will have the training to become a mental health paraprofessional to lead a small group of young student’s/clients a wide variety of appropriate skills development, positive behavior, anger management, social skills, build self-esteem, focusing ability, and many more. I am excited to take on the challenge this summer and all the challenges I will face in my future
