The Industrial Revolution was started in in Britain and the U.S, there was a high demand for labour. There were families that migrated to from rural areas to a more civillized part of the world and seeked for any job opportunities. Those families didn't seem to realize that the jobs would be as fun and easy as they thought, it turned out to be dull, dirty and horrific. They had to live in the lowest levels of poverty, and every family member had to work, which led to high levels of child labour which kept rising. Poor innocent children were not treated well, underpaid and overworked for a long period of time.WAGES AND HOURS

Heavy, large, hard and dangerous equipment was very common in these children's working lives. Many incidents and accidents occured killing or injuring the innocent kids. They don't deserve to live such a short life. During the year 1833 is when things started to improve. The young kids were getting a fraction of pay to what an adult would receive, and some factories would not pay the kids at all. It was more common to find orphans subject to living this slave-like life. Factory owners did state that they fed, gave clothing and shelter to the child labourers yet it was a very small portion. The children that did get paid, honestly didn't earn that much and should have received more.
One young boy who was a child labourer explained the money system: "They [boys of eight years] used to get 3d [d is the abbreviation for pence] or 4d a day. Now a man's wages is divided into eight eighths; at eleven, two eighths; at thirteen, three eighths; at fifteen, four eighths; at twenty, a man's wagesÐ About 15s
