Life in China in the Year 2100 China is among the worlds most industrialized nations and its influence on world relations spans across the east and the west. Besides its economic prowess, China is the most populous country in the world, with an estimated population of 1.37 billion persons as at July 2016 (CIA, 2017). Using an elaborate set of population and economic policies, the country has managed to control its population and reduce poverty. For instance, the one-child policy has been successful in controlling population growth while the annexation of Hong Kong has enhanced economic growth (Kamrany & Jiang, n.d.). Additionally, the Communist Party has maintained state power in a closely-knit political system – Politburo – that is intolerant of opposition.
