Argumentative Essay: Choices & Destinies

Shakespeare once stated that “To Strike him dead I hold it not a sin.” (1.5.56-57)
This instance exemplifies how the protagonists in the play had their choices controlled for themselves. More specifically, this illustrates the control that one had with their choices based on the circumstances they had at hand. In his play, Romeo and Juliet, William Shakespeare shows that when listening to other people you sometimes forget whats best for yourself. Romeo and Juliet forgot that in the play when they risked their lives and in the end of the play, killed themselves. This stands out with great importance because Romeo wasnt being impulsive, he was just being really committed to something that could only have one good or bad ending. For example, evidence suggests, “By a Name I know not how to tell thee. Had I it written, I would tear the Word.” (2.2.53-57). This also shows that maybe if they chose to listen and “play by the rules” instead, this could provide a drastic change in the play because then Romeo and Juliet wouldnt be following their own opinions and doing what was best by their own needs. This does not provide solid evidence of their impulsive behavior because since they learned eachother’s names they knew they danger that waitd ahead the road for them. Even though some would consider their actions to be rash and without thinking, Romeo and Juliet may instead have seen it as very logical because Romeo and Juliet as they went made plans to go around the problems that they were facing. To review what was just stated it is important to note that People should not let others input on their
