We want to be able to influence people to do God's will, much of which requires a certain level of expertise in order to be effective (witnessing, teaching, discipling, etc.). This means that in the first place, the leader is concerned with the learning process, and how to bring about rapid and permanent learning. A child must learn to walk, talk, and feed herself. Christians must learn to pray, study, love others, admit sin etc. Vision has always been considered an important component in leadership, both in Christian and secular circles.
Servant leadership is not the only leadership theory that is compatible with the Christian worldview. Others Christian-compatible leadership principles include Transformational Leadership Theory. Northouse (2016) states transformational changes and transforms people. The theory concern with emotions, values, ethics, standards, and goals while assessing followers’ motives, satisfying followers’ needs, and treating members’ as full human beings. Throughout the world, there are thousands of different religions. Religion is intertwined with culture, economics, politics, and relationships on every aspect. Whether you attend a synagogue, mosque, or abstain entirely, you simply cannot escape religion. Religions can vary from the number of gods they believe in, their clothing, and who their spiritual leader is. According to Merriam- Webster religion is an organized system of beliefs, ceremonies, and rules used to worship a god or group of gods.

This poses a dilemma in regard to leadership. If an external authority figure cannot instill morally upright and justifiable behavior in his/her citizens nor hold them accountable for their actions, then what is the role of a political leader? Luther argues that Christianity “can do all things and has all things and lacks nothing,” therefore faith is all one needs to govern oneself and life a righteous, moral life (52). During the interview with Timothy Hughes, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, many difficult and probing questions were asked to discover the heart of his decision making process. The pastor, making himself available for this interview answered with much openness and transparency revealing how he makes decisions regarding a variety of issues. In regards to fear and its impact on his decision making, one could ascertain that this pastor uses acknowledgement of his fear to provide balance in this process. Decision made in regards to sermon preparation time is deemed to vary as he tries to “utilize a variety of sermon methodology or sermon preparation.”
In the Gospel of Mark, Jesus is presented as the “Christ, the Messiah” (Mk 1:1 NAB). These are the first words of Mark. However, what does this mean? Through the Gospel, Mark wants to answer this question with several facts. The Gospel is divided in two main sections: first, chapter 1 to 8 shows the human part of Jesus and performing several miracles.
This includes being a leader out in the world and in his home. “The Bible instructs men to lead their families and often refers to leadership as shepherding. Through self-reflection and academic readings, I have discovered that I identify with three different leadership theories. During the first meeting in a Strength Based Leadership class, we were asked to write our leadership history. The class then began an ongoing exploration of various leadership theories. Upon reviewing my leadership history from the first class and synthesizing the information from the theories that were examined, I discovered that I most resonate with the Trait Leadership Theory, the Skills Leadership Theory, and the Path-Goal Leadership theory. These theories are leader focused, describing the process and techniques a leader uses to accomplish goals.
Over the last few weeks, leadership class has succeeded in getting me to think deeply about my life, who I really am and who I hope to be. This is good because it helps me put proper measures in place that will help me accomplish those goals. A servant leader, as we have discussed in class is one who is servant-first. His main aim is to serve his people and do what is best for the people around him, whether he is in a leadership position or not.

To me, it is hard to define what leadership is, especially in one sentence, but I agree with you that leadership is the action of leading others or an organization. I feel like it is when someone steps up and goes into the unknown as well. It is also important to mention that it is never just one single person.
