The similarities between the teachings of Christianity and Buddhism are not a coincidence. They only confirm and emphasize the fact that people all over the world have the same basic needs and desires, regardless of their culture or language. The purpose of every religion is to meet some of these desires and to give hope to the people practicing it. They also strive to give answers to the same questions, however each one has its own distinct way of doing it. The differences and contrasts between the various religions of the world become apparent when one analyses the details regarding each. The morals and ways of life which each one preaches are very distinct and often are the main reason for the controversies and disputes surrounding them.
