Chronicle of A Death Foretold is a story about the murder of Santiago Nasar. The book starts with his murder, then goes to talk about the events that led up to the murder. The story is spoken through the narrator 's perspective, and the reader only gains the knowledge of what happen through the narrator. In the beginning of the story the reader learns about the main protagonist Santiago Nasar, what he is like, and about his family. The reader also learns what happened on that day of his death and the fact several people knew Santiago was going to die, but did not warn him. The night of Angela and Bayardo 's wedding, Bayardo founds that his wife is not a virgin. Se is sent back to her home where she is beating by her mother and weeps, not because of her mother but the pain she feels for her husband. Angela 's brother, Pablo and Pedro are sent to kill the Santiago Nasar, the person who supposedly took their sister 's virginity. Throughout the story we learn how the brothers go about there vengeful journey to regain their families ' honor and respect. The entire town eventually figures out about the murder and only several people try to stop the murder from happening, but ultimately failed. The two boys then find Santiago, chase him to his house and stab him multiple times, killing him. Throughout the story Marquez the author uses different symbols and magical realism to describe what is happening. It gives the reader a different understanding of a story involving murder mysteries.
