This movie is a foreign film based on two boys that are best friends. The movie is set in Mexico during some tough times, for majority of everyone living in less fortunate communities. The main characters are Julio and Tenoch, in the movie the narrator tells and shows the audience the different backgrounds they are from. Julio is from a middle-class family. Tenoch, on the other hand is a wealthy kid with powerful parents. There backgrounds have played a major role in their friendship, which might take a turn for the worst by the end of the movie. Their friendship is put to the test when they agree to take Luisa, Tenoch’s cousin-in law to the beach. In this movie, there are a couple of twist and turns, but most of the movie is predictable. The most unpredictable thing was the use of sound. The sounds helped give insight and understanding to each character’s circumstance.

Julio and his girlfriend having sex and in the background, sirens are being heard. Those sirens let viewers see that he was living in a lower-class community. While Tenoch on the other hand lived in a mansion with servants, maids, and butlers. When Julio, Tenoch, and a friend of theirs went outside to smoke, all that is heard is the sound of dogs barking in the distance, and that shows they are on secluded property and are in a good neighborhood. Another example is Luisa, she lives next to a train station. Therefore, there are people all round and that street is usually busy, but the director showed that in her house viewer hear nothing. That shows the emptiness she felt, but it also showed that she was missing out on life and it was happening all around her. These sounds, even though they are seen as insignificant, complement the visuals that were given and allowed viewers a to look for clarity through this
