As cross country approached this year, I was ranked as the number one girl on the Prosper High School cross country team. I was super excited about it because of all of the hard work and countless sacrifices I had put in for nine years, but what I was not expecting was lots and lots of drama. I spend a lot of time with the girls on the team from 6AM practices to 8 hour meets so we are all very close, almost too close. My best friend on the team was also on the varsity squad, but she used to be are number two runner until a few girls passed her. I had no idea what to do, all the girls on the team had turned against me, and I was getting to the point of defeat by this pointless drama. Homecoming night came along and I was in her group. My parents had been a little cold to her parents during pictures, so as we got to the dance I got a call from my sister that this girl 's mom had told my parents that I had sent texts threatening her, and they had the texts and were going to send them to my parents. Completely astonished I quickly denied it, and confronted the girl asking her if I had done that, and she said, “no I do not remember that.” After that I felt a little at ease, but her mom was adamant about these texts. Sunday came along and the mom texted again saying the texts were deleted but they were going to recover them using an app they had gotten. So all day sunday was spent recovering the texts. My parents did not know if I was telling the truth, and I kept being doubted and in all honesty I was floored and so emotional it was hard to function. The next day, monday, was the district meet and my parents, not really believing me, threatened to not let me
