Civil Rights Revolution All throughout history, the African American community has faced harsh discrimination. Since the start of time, they had been treated poorly and received inhumane treatment. The 1950’s was an important era for the black community. During this time, they were no longer willing to put up with all the racism and prejudice. It was time to stand up and fight against a system that was very corrupt and against the community. Society was a mess at this time and the hatred was alive and justified since there was no equality whatsoever. There were many historical figures that helped achieve rights for the black community. The world is not exactly where many of us would like it to be. For one, violence is still inflicted more towards minorities. Civil Rights Activists inspired many to stand up for our rights. For example, Cesar Chavez was influenced by Martin Luther King Jr. which allowed better conditions for the Mexican community. He also protested for better working conditions and less discrimination which helped many generations after. It is unfortunate that the black community lost many heroes before they saw any action from the government. The black community stayed united and did not give up despite the violence and unfair deaths. But the deaths were not in vain since later in the years, acts were passed, and they made the fight for equality closer and closer to the goal. After the protesting, Derek Chauvin was arrested, and the three officers were fired from the police department. As a society there is still more progress to be made and learning from the past can either help us prevent more tragedies or be better and stand up for what the right thing to do. The civil rights movement left a huge mark on all of society and will forever be an important event in history. To protest for human rights and if it is stopped with violence, then there has not been enough education taught to these people enough to know right from wrong.
