The purpose of this paper is to explain the social implications that comes with transportation planning in urban areas. Urban transportation planning is carried out primarily by state and local agencies. The structure of urban transportation planning affects people’s access to work, public services and an array of life activities. The plan of this paper will be explained in a annotated bibliography.
