When I had to choose a question for my classical argument essay, I decided on one that is familiar to me. The question of whether the PIAA should separate public and private schools into their own divisions has been talked about for years. Before I go into further detail related to my question, it is important to discuss the history of the PIAA. The PIAA was founded in 1913 and its acronym stands for “The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association”. The PIAA is one of the governing bodies of high school sports in Pennsylvania encompassing twelve districts across the state. Parents and fans want the PIAA to separate both types of schools right now. However, the thought of just separating both private and public schools in one day is just unrealistic. For example, if the PIAA comes out and says that they are going to ban the Philadelphia Catholic League (PCL) from participating in the state playoffs for every sport, the reaction from the Philadelphia Catholic League (PCL) would be negative and upsetting.
