Introduction
Autism is a mental disorder that impairs learning and social abilities. Children or students diagnosed with Autism have special learning needs that must be considered in any classroom environment. Children on the autistic spectrum are considered disabled and granted the privilege of having enhanced learning spades to make their lives easier. There are different forms of Autism based on the spectrum, which gives different needs and learning demands (CDC, 2022). This paper focuses on the education of children on the autism spectrum, looking into their needs for a learning environment. The research tries to understand the nature of the condition, which allows an understanding of the physical, mental, and emotional needs that should be met in a learning environment or a classroom setting. The presentation of ASD makes it hard for the children to have normal social interactions, making the thought of school very difficult. Children with ASD also have sensory issues and need structure and routine in their learning. Schools can implement various strategies that allow children with ASD to thrive within any learning environment.
