At one moment in western civilization history Cleopatra was one of the greatest leaders in Egypt. As a leader she helped to develop the great Egyptian Empire as we see it through history today. She was a stunning queen, loved by some, hated by others. Cleopatra was more than just beautiful, she was quite the political strategist, intelligent, and a women speaking many different languages who had to right to rule her country. They believed him to be much easier to influence and they became his council of regency. Cleopatra is thought to have fled to Thebaid. On October 27, 50 BC Ptolemy XIII signed a decree which banned any shipment of grain to anywhere except Alexandria. The idea of this was to deprive Cleopatra and her supporters.
