History on Cummins Diesel
Cummins motors, created by Clessie Lyle Cummins has made a huge impact on diesel truck drivers, and on motors since 1919.(“Company Background.”) The company Cummins, from 1919 till now has created a magnificent, very strong, and long lasting motor.(“Company Background.”) They have had all kinds of amazing upgrades and changes on their trucks throughout the years. Cummins engines have revolutionized the truck and engine world; their innovative ideas have driven the competition and raised the standards of the diesel world.
CUMMINS DIESEL ENGINES 1919-1990
In the beginning, it all started out as a little experiment by a self taught mechanic and inventor. Clessie Cummins he was looking for a way to make a diesel

By that time the motors were getting better they were starting to figure them out more. Things were going fantastic.(“Company Background.”) Later, in 1954 they had figured out fuel injection for their motor and that was something that no other diesel trucks had the time. By late 1950s, Cummins had sales over $100 million and a commanding lead in the market for heavy diesel trucks. All the truck motors were getting better, stronger, and more …show more content…
They had created a magnificent truck and motor. Now they wanted faster and stronger. So then, in 2001 cummins had surpassed 500 Lbs of feet torque.(“Cummins Timeline.”) Between 2002 and 2006 they had made 2 different motors and 3 different body styles in their trucks. But in 2007 they created the cummins 6.7L with 350 horsepower.(“Cummins Timeline.”) That was a big jump from the motor before with 325 horsepower on the 5.9L 04.5-06.5.(“Cummins Timeline.”) They didn't have any other big jumps of horsepower like that till 2013 they created another 6.7L cummins with 385 horsepower and 850 Lbs of feet torque.(“Cummins Timeline.”) But between all these torque and horsepower upgrades that they had, they also created and Cummins engine that ran only on 4 cylinders!(“4BT Cummins.”) It was the 3.9L Cummins called the 4BT.(“4BT Cummins.”) It was like the 12 valve that they had made in the 1990s but it ran on 2 cylinders less than the 12 valve. Then in 2014, cummins and dodge wanted to make a truck that was light duty and not to big but still a diesel for the people that needed light jobs done without using a gas vehicle so they introduced us with the Dodge ram ecodiesel.(“5.0L Cummins
